Parent's Letter Dec. 13th
1. Please review homework with your child.
2. Review recognizing the initial sounds of /b/, /c/, /d/, /f/, /g/, and /h/ in initial position.
3. Have the children practice writing Aa-Ii and the child's name.
4. Have the children write the numbers 1-10.
5. Christmas Party will be on Thursday Dec. 16th.
6. We are asking the parents for $4.00 to order Mc Donalds.
7. Lessons and Carols will be on Friday Dec. 17th @ 10:00 AM.
8. Christmas recess begins on Friday Dec. 17th-Jan. 4th ( School Resumes)

Parent's Letter Nov. 22nd.
Please be inform of the following:
1. Please review homework with your child.
2. Review letter/ sound correspondence.
3. The children will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day on Tuesday, Nov. 23 (Dress-up day).
4. School will be closed on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25.
5. We need tissues, clorox wipes, and paper towel.
6. Thanksgiving mass will be on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd.

Please be informed of the following:
- Please take your child to the bathroom before entering the classroom in the mornings.
- Review homework with your child. Homework is a review of what we do in class.
- The children are learning the letters of the alphabet and their corresponding sounds. Please have your child practice writing the letters Aa through Dd.
- Calendar review - The letter of this month starts with Nn, as in November, net, newspaper, nine, numbers, nuts, nurse, and necklace.
- The letter of the week is Dd, as in, duck, desk, dog, dime, dolphin, dive, and door.
- Review rote counting from 0-10, making groups from 1-10m and recognizing the numbers 0-10.
- We are learning about rhyming words - words that sound alike at the end of the word (cat and hat).
- We are discussing feelings and how we should deal with our feelings when we are sad, angry, and happy.
- On Thursday, November 11th, school will be closed.
- We need tissues, Clorox wipes, and paper towels.
- We are planning to see the movie "Tangled." We will send permission slips home as soon as we have a date.

There will be a Halloween parade on Friday, October 29th. Children must come to school in their costumes. Please bring in $2 for your child to order McDonald's.
The book fair will take place on October 25th through November 1st.
Reminders:
- Please make sure that you review your child's homework with him/her.
- Breakfast ends at 7:55 am.
- Take your child to the bathroom before coming into the classroom in the morning.
- Pick-up time is at 3:00pm.

Sept. 13th, 2010 (parents reminder)
As we begin our school year, I would like to welcome you and your child to our Pre-K class. I say this because you are part of our team in your child's education.
Also, I would like to remind you of the following:
* Breakfast ends at 8:00 am.
* Class begins at 8:00 am.
* All parents must leave the childrenin the classroom and leave as soon as possible.
* Please make sure that all documents given are signed and returned.
* Check with me to see if your child is missing any supplies.
* Check folders for homework everyday.

Dear Parents,
I am delighted to welcome you and your child to our Preschool Program. Let’s work together to make this a joyous growing experience for your child/
Our program is designed to develop awareness and nurturing of each child’s precious spirit. Our program recognizes that our Pre-K students are eager learners even though their social, fine and gross motor skills, language, and cognitive abilities. This program is designed to meet individuals needs of the early learner and teacher children how to chare and socialize, and function in a group. The group lays the foundation of faith and guides the children in daily prayer and academic activities designed to prepare them for kindergarten.
The following is a typical Pre-K session:
· Opening Exercises – Welcome prayer, Pledge of allegiance, Calendar, weather
· Religion lesion via circle time – Topic of the week
· Language – nursery rhymes, little books, big books; Oral language development; Phonetic awareness activities; Auditory discrimination and listening skills; Visual discrimination; knowledge of the alphabet; Development writing activities; Beginning print and book concepts; Comprehension skills; Learning center activities
· Free play – includes learning centers
· Science – Topic of the week ; Body Awareness; earth Science; Nutrition; Physical
· Social Studies
· Rest Room/ Bathroom time
· Snack ( no glass bottles, only boxed juice no chips)
· Math – Position and classification; Comparison and patterns; Number readiness and graphing; Numbers 0-20; Geometry; Fractions; Money and time
· Story time
· Art &Music Lunch
· Nap (1 hour)
Supplies
· 4 folders
· 1 Pre-K notebook (sold in the school supply room)
· 1 coloring book
· Child’s baby picture and family picture
· A change of clothes
· 1 can Lysol spray
· Baby wipes
· Paper towel
· Clorox wipes
Reminder
· Bring your child on time (after 8:00 your child need a late pass)
· Bring an absent note if your child is absent (IT’S A MUST!) it is required by the Department of Education
· Read calendar carefully for early dismissals
· Send your child’s supplies on time
· Bring Emergency Cars as soon as possible and all other paperwork
· Send homework on time
· If you want to throw a birthday party in the lunchroom , please tell me two weeks ahead
· If you need to talk to me about your Childs progress, You must make an appointment
· Please, no outside toys allowed
· Read to your child every night (15 minutes)
· Label everything your child brings to class
· Your child must wear a gym t-shirt and jogging pants of Thursdays
· Children should have breakfast everyday
